Samsung Electronics reported a 10-fold jump in first-quarter operating profit to 6.61 trillion won ($4.85bn) due to a recovery in its key memory chip business and strong sales of Galaxy S24 smartphone.
Overall revenue increased to 71.9 trillion won ($52 billion), supported by higher prices for memory semiconductors and the weak won against the dollar.
