Like, in New York, they had some crazy stat because, you know, they throw people in jail and then they're out the next day. Like something some crazy percentage of crimes, some side of crime, was like from 600 people who just over and over did like 80 percent of whatever. That is just wow, Sheen said."
"And this is why Republicans get elected. Because Democrats run cities and they don't do that. And it would be so easy to do that. But then there would be a certain part of their constituency that I guess wouldn't like that. But everyone should like that. Yes, these are like career criminals. Call me crazy, I don't think crime should be a career. Or be allowed to become one, Sheen added."
Charlie Sheen proposed creating a dedicated facility for a small group of persistent offenders, calling it the "600 Building," to reduce urban crime. The idea relied on a claimed statistic that a tiny fraction of people commit a disproportionate share of crimes. Bill Maher referenced the statistic and suggested political reluctance prevents such targeted policies in Democratic-run cities. Sheen described career criminality as unacceptable and argued against allowing crime to become a long-term occupation. The segment contrasted that proposal with President Donald Trump's use of the National Guard in some cities.
