"There have been many 'high-difficulty' games in recent years. We wanted to differentiate ourselves from that trend. Rather than creating an action game where players overcome difficulty purely through technical skill, we felt it would be more accessible as a new title if players could tackle challenging situations through strategy and character progression."
"For that reason, we chose to design the game as an action RPG where difficulty is overcome through strategic play and growth, rather than through pure mechanical mastery. Stupid Never Dies prioritises speed, accessibility and adaptability over pure challenge, featuring flashy combo grading systems and a pumping hard rock soundtrack."
Stupid Never Dies is a new action game developed by GPTRACK50, a NetEase Games studio led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, a veteran Capcom programmer and producer. The game follows Davy, a zombie protagonist who ventures into hell's dungeons to gather Over-Technology to save humanity and his love interest. The development team includes experienced creators from Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Dragon's Dogma. While the game features Devil May Cry-inspired combo systems and hard rock soundtracks, it deliberately shifts focus from pure technical challenge to accessibility and strategic gameplay. Players overcome difficulty through character progression and tactical decisions rather than mechanical mastery alone. Davy can equip weapons on multiple body parts and utilize 11 different combat styles.
