The verticals NBC BLK, NBC Asian America, NBC Latino and NBC OUT will no longer have teams dedicated, but will continue to publish stories related to specific groups. One source told The Wrap that NBC may retain as little as five staffers who would be responsible for publishing content across the verticals. They added that the cuts didn't target specific teams and were driven by budget and the network's want to streamline its efforts. This has not yet been confirmed by NBC publicly.

Programs that once opened doors for minority-, women-, and LGBTQ+-owned businesses to fairly compete are being rolled back or reframed under new restrictions.
After months of uncertainty, the Emerging Black Composers Project (EBCP), launched in 2020 by the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the San Francisco Symphony, is back on track. In early March 2025, SFCM and the SF Symphony announced the program was paused, citing a memo from the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights that instructed schools to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion efforts or face the possibility of losing their federal funding.
