A shooting near Howard University has left at least four people shot, police in Washington DC said. The shooting happened as thousands descended on the campus for homecoming celebrations. Police responded to shots being fired at 8.23pm on the 600 block of Howard Place, near the university's Yard and the School of Architecture building. Police say the shooting left one person in critical condition and one person in serious condition.

The woman was transported to a local hospital where she later died, police say.

QUEENS, NY - Police are searching for a suspect who shot a 15-year-old boy on a Queens street Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened near the intersection of Springfield Boulevard and Union Turnpike around 2:50 p.m., police said. Officers found the boy with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Cohen Children's Medical Center in stable condition. The suspect fled the scene after the shooting, police said.
San Diego police were looking for a gunman in Chollas View early Tuesday afternoon after he shot a teen in the leg and fled on a scooter. North Tonawanda, NY - A brawl inside a Webster Street restaurant spilled into the street early Sunday, ending with gunfire and a large police response, according to the North Tonawanda Police Department. Two suspects are facing criminal charges after a Tuesday night shooting at a downtown Concord parking garage injured three people. Justino Lopez-Perez, of Bay Point, was charged with attempted murder, assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm from within a vehicle and more, according to the Concord Police Department. Erickson Melendez, of Concord, was charged with conspiracy and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

Now, the suspect has been sentenced to nine years in state prison through a plea deal, court records show. Theodis Evans, 48, pleaded no contest to two assault with a deadly weapon charges and was sentenced last month, court records show. For now he remains at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
Two women who were apparently related to one another were found dead inside a Walnut Creek home late Thursday night, and police are investigating the matter as a double homicide. Residents of the upscale Walnut Creek neighborhood of Woodlands woke up to an unusual sight early Friday morning, as Walnut Creek Police Department cruisers and police tape coated the street of Kelobra Court.

The shooting was reported around 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 13 in the 100 block of Ciolino Avenue, near Del Monte Avenue, according to the Morgan Hill Police Department. Officers found several bullet casings at the scene and learned the 17-year-old victim had been taken to an area hospital with gunshot wounds, police said. The victim has since been treated and released.
