A man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in Ajax on Friday night, Durham Regional Police say. The fatal collision happened on Taunton Road E. near the intersection with Warner Drive. Police were called to the area for a pedestrian collision shortly before 7 p.m. When officers arrived, they found an injured man and a vehicle that had sustained damage, according to Acting Duty Insp. Andre Wyatt.
An initial investigation determined the bicyclist, a man in his 80s, was traveling southbound in the bicycle lane when he moved into the traffic lanes and was hit by a 2022 Mercedes-Benz, police said. The bicyclist suffered a major head injury in the crash, police said, adding that he was wearing a helmet at the time. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
The crash was reported at 5:35 p.m. after a woman driving a silver 2007 Ford sedan heading west on Rancho Drive took a left turn onto southbound Monterey Road, according to the San Jose Police Department. That put her in the path of a northbound blue 2013 BMW coupe, and the two vehicles collided, causing the BMW to hit the center divider and cross into southbound lanes.

A single-car crash in Rehoboth left the driver dead and three juvenile passengers injured on Monday morning. Massachusetts State Police received a report of the crash on I-195 east at mile marker 4.2 around 9:15 a.m. State Police believe the driver suffered a medical emergency, according to a press release shared with Boston.com. First responders transported the driver and three juveniles to a nearby hospital in Rhode Island via ambulance.

A 16-year-old boy died after falling 75 feet off an Interstate 80 on-ramp during a sideshow in Crockett, according to a Facebook post by the California Highway Patrol. Authorities at CHP's Contra Costa office received a call around 3:26 a.m. Saturday of a sideshow involving over 100 vehicles blocking the intersection of Pomona Street and Merchant Street near the entrance and exit ramp for I-80 westbound on Pomona Street.

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle in a Scarborough intersection on Friday evening, Toronto police said. Police said an adult victim died at the scene and that the driver of the vehicle remained on scene when officers arrived.
An 8-year-old girl was killed Wednesday when she was struck by an ambulance in Van Buren, a town in northern Maine, according to Maine State Police. Just after 4 p.m., state police responded to a crash near Kennedy Terrace and Main Street in Van Buren, where an ambulance traveling north fatally struck Emma Cormier. The girl was attempting to cross the street when she was hit, state police said in a statement.
