Joseph Harrison has been appointed the new executive chef of Aria in Buckhead, succeeding Gerry Klaskala following his 25-year tenure. A James Beard Award semifinalist, Harrison previously served as executive chef at Common Thread in Savannah. As he transitions into his role, Harrison is focused on implementing menu changes and learning Aria's recipes. The restaurant is also set for a makeover, including landscaping and new dishware. General manager Andrés Loaiza, who recognized Harrison's talent during meals at previous restaurants, expressed excitement about their shared vision for enhancing guest experiences.
Joseph's talent and vision immediately stood out to us ... From the moment I sat down with him, it was clear he shared our commitment to creating meaningful experiences for guests.
Anyone working in this industry knows who Gerry Klaskala is. I quickly learned Andrés and I share a passion for hospitality. It's rare to find someone who feels just as passionately about the front of house as you do about the kitchen.
Starting June 18, expect new landscaping, exterior cosmetic changes, new china and glassware, and menu changes.
Harrison helped open Common Thread in 2021, where Loaiza dined quietly. Dishes like North Carolina flounder with berbere spice and redfish with jalapeño emulsion sealed the deal.
