East Hampton-inspired restaurant opens in Redondo Beach
"Montauk is what we call sophisticated coastal dining. The idea behind it is for us to put a more elevated fine dining concept in the traditionally casual Redondo Beach area,"
"Yeah this dish is crazy. Our duck is very lean but it's a filling dish,"
"We're definitely adding some flair to Redondo Beach,"
Montauk opened a 160-seat restaurant Oct. 23 at 1611 S. Catalina Ave. in Redondo Beach's Riviera Village. The concept blends East Hampton sophistication with Southern California coastal charm. The exterior features marble and gold trims while the interior includes white-linen tables, dark wood tones, banquettes, and a patio with an herb garden used in the menu. A jazz lounge will host live jazz nightly. Menu highlights include flounder en papillote, filet mignon with duck fat fingerlings, mushroom tagliatelle with house-made pasta, Chilean sea bass with Peruvian pommes purée, seared duck breast, caviar, seafood platters, and a vegan beet tart.
