NYC Homeowner Finds Hidden Phone Camera Covered in Duct Tape Buried in Front Lawn
Briefly

A homeowner in Forest Hill, Queens, NYC, discovered a duct-taped phone buried in her lawn, which police identified as a hidden surveillance camera. This incident reflects a worrying trend where burglars use covert cameras to observe neighborhood routines and identify the best time to break in. Authorities report that these devices are often simple and readily available for purchase online. The trend has been growing across multiple states, raising concerns about safety and privacy.
"Why us? I had lots of things going through my head as to why they chose our lawn but realized we are in the middle of the block," Kehoe tells KTVZ 21.
"It could be any type of camera that is digital and wireless. It could be cheap; it could be expensive," Sergeant Vahe Abramyan explains.
