Teoscar Hernandez, outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 adductor strain following an MRI, as confirmed by manager Dave Roberts. He has been placed on the 10-day injured list after leaving a game against the Miami Marlins with the injury. While Roberts is unsure about the recovery timeline, Hernandez currently leads the Dodgers, who are at the top of the National League West, with a .315 batting average, 34 RBIs, and nine home runs this season, tying him for the team lead.
"Obviously, he's going to be inactive for a while. I don't really know a timetable," Roberts said, according to MLB.com. "I think that's all contingent on when he starts back up again."
Hernandez was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with the groin strain and the Dodgers recalled outfielder OF James Outman in a corresponding move.
Hernandez leads the National League West-leading Dodgers with a .315 batting average, 34 RBIs and 10 doubles this season.
He also has hit nine home runs, tied for the team lead with Shohei Ohtani.
