Sergio Pino, a wealthy developer, reportedly orchestrated a murder-for-hire plot against his estranged wife, Tatiana Pino. The gunman involved, Vernon Green, pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges after threatening Tatiana and her daughter last summer. Green is the fourth of nine defendants to plead guilty. Pino committed suicide in front of FBI officers as they approached his home, leaving unresolved legal disputes regarding his estate worth over $100 million, which Tatiana now partially controls.
Little by little, the nine crew members accused of joining a murder-for-hire plot that authorities say was hatched by wealthy Coral Gables developer Sergio Pino to kill his wife are pleading guilty in the FBI case.
Green, who has a prior criminal record, faces at least seven years in prison and potentially up to life at his sentencing in September.
