Early in the episode, Donna tells her daughter Rose: 'I would burn down the world for you darling. If anyone has a go, I will be there and I will descend.'
Donna acknowledges the clumsy mistakes the adults sometimes make - but the most powerful message in the new special is the way Doctor Who centers parental love as the thing that can save the universe.
