Oracle is replacing CEO Safra Catz with two co-CEOs
""Today, Oracle is recognized as the cloud of choice for both AI training and inferencing. I'm very proud of that," said Catz. "Oracle's technology and business have never been stronger. And our breathtaking growth rate points to an even more prosperous future. At this time of strength is the right moment to pass the CEO role to the next generation of capable executives.""
""into the AI era,""
""making it possible for America to win.""
Safra Catz stepped down as Oracle CEO after 11 years at the helm. Clay Magouyrk and Mike Sicilia were promoted as co-CEOs. Magouyrk previously led Oracle's cloud infrastructure unit, and Sicilia presided over the company's applications and AI products. The co-CEOs will focus on leading Oracle into the AI era. Oracle signed a $300 billion computing power deal with OpenAI last week. Catz will remain vice chair of the board. The leadership changes occur as China and the US near a final deal to sell TikTok to an American consortium, with Oracle named among expected buyers. Catz praised US AI policy at a White House dinner, saying the President is "making it possible for America to win."
