YouTube Looking to Beat TikTok With Useful New App Features
"YouTube just revealed a bunch of new tools that are being added to their mobile app. These are meant to help people who want to make videos of their own using their cellphones. There is no need for any fancy apps, only YouTube's Create mode, which features multiple editing tools. As is described on their site, Create gives users "the easy-to-use tools [they] need to take [their] videos to the next level.""
"Anyone who tries it will be able to get access to "filters, effects, transitions, and [YouTube's] large library of royalty-free music." Of course - it's 2025 after all - there are also some AI features, though it is noted that these are also still experimental features and therefore not available to everyone yet. Right now, the YouTube Create function is only available on Android phones."
"Though, if you're an iPhone user in either Canada or Australia, then you're in luck because YouTube Create is available there for iPhone XR and newer, as noted on the Google support website. Whether on iPhone or Android, YouTube Create is currently in its beta phase and not available globally just yet. A set number of countries are on the list though in Asia, the America's and Europe. Sources: YouTube; Google"
YouTube added a Create mode to its mobile app that provides in-app editing tools for creators using only their phones. The mode includes filters, effects, transitions, and access to a large library of royalty-free music. Experimental AI features are also included but not yet available to everyone. Create is currently beta and limited by platform and country: available on Android broadly and on iPhone XR and newer in Canada and Australia. Availability is rolling out to a set list of countries across Asia, the Americas, and Europe. The tools target short-form video production and simplify editing without third-party apps.
