Electronic Arts (EA) is set to cut between 300 and 400 positions while also canceling a game in the Titanfall universe, known as R7, from Respawn Entertainment. EA spokesperson Justin Higgs stated that these decisions are part of aligning teams more efficiently to support future growth. Additionally, Respawn announced the cancellation of two early-stage games and made team adjustments in its major franchises, Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi. As a result, around 100 employees from Respawn were laid off, with some reassigned to other EA projects, including Iron Man and Battlefield franchises.

Respawn explains that it had to cancel two games that were in "early-stage incubation" and "make some targeted team adjustments" across Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi.
About 100 employees at Respawn were laid off, including developers, QA workers, and publishing staffers, with some moved to other EA projects.
