The party included food trucks parked alongside 9th Street, as well as a stage at the corner of 8th and Washington Streets where DJ LadyRyan emceed. The program included performances by DJ Veyn, Oakland multidisciplinary artist Jen Johns, and Oakland-based hip-hop and jazz collective Sol Development accompanied by Richmond rapper, DJ and producer Mani Draper. LaRussell headlined with the Oakland-based Collab Choir.

Third Thursdays on Ellis, or just "On Ellis," launched first as a pre-Portola block party in September, and the events in October and November, featuring electro DJs Wax Motif and Joel Corry have been pretty lit, as the kids say, with thousands in attendance. The event happens outside the historic John's Grill, and it seems to have caught on with a younger party crowd in a much bigger way than the similar Fridays on Front Street, likely because of the music acts who have been booked and the more rave-y atmosphere.

Indian Larry hog-shop owner Bobby Seeger told The Post that his business will simply be relocating after the building that currently houses it is sold - with him eyeing a new spot in Williamsburg just two blocks away. "It's never going to go away. We'll relocate," Seeger said of his business - named after Larry Desmedt, a k a Indian Larry, the late motorcycle builder and stunt rider made famous by the Discovery Channel. "What are you going to do? You can dance, tap, cry," Seeger said of critics.
