Biological changes such as severe muscle damage, mitochondrial problems, and microclots are to blame for the fatigue, pain, and malaise experienced by people with long Covid after exercise.
A study involving 25 long Covid patients and 21 recovered Covid patients found that those with long Covid had lower exercise capacity, a higher proportion of white fibres in their muscles, and impaired functioning of mitochondria. [ more ]
