Halloween pet parade and beer festival in San Ramon on Oct. 26

Taking place at the City Center Bishop Ranch, the event invites both pets and their owners to don outfits and strut their stuff for the amusement of the general public. People are invited to preserve the memory at a Halloween-themed selfie station. And from 1-5 p.m., nearby "dog gym" The Hub is putting out a miniature obstacle course and a ball-pit sniff patch for hounds.

A traveling beer circus is coming to City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon

The championship finale of the Beer City Half Northern California Series will feature $5,000 in prize money and a full day of fresh beer in San Ramon on Sunday, Oct. 26. Sunday's festivities start early, as runners will take off at 8:30 a.m. to participate in a half marathon, 10K and a 5K along scenic routes around the 2.5-mile loop on Annabel Lake and parts of the 32-mile Iron Horse Trail. The winner of the half marathon will receive something known as the Golden Growler. Runners will cross the finish line and head straight to the Beer City Festival, which calls itself a "traveling beer circus" that is spending the weekend in San Ramon showcasing the East Bay's top craft beers, live music, games and food.

Pick axe and tire iron used in wild $1 million Bay Area robbery

Multiple people wearing masks and brandishing handguns ran into Heller Jewelers at the City Center Bishop Ranch shopping mall at 6000 Bollinger Canyon Road at around 1:50 p.m. Footage from the scene shows the robbers using tools, including a hammer, a tire iron and a pick axe, to smash glass countertops so they could pull out merchandise in a "takeover-style armed robbery," according to police.
