Kate Bush is harnessing the power of her global hit Running Up That Hill in collaboration with leading names in British art to raise money for children caught up in global conflicts. The singer-songwriter invited 52 visual artists to respond to her lyric If I only could, I'd make a deal with God from her 1985 anthem. One of her best-loved songs and hailed as one of the greatest songs of all time by Rolling Stone.

The Van Gogh still life has been consigned by the estate of Cindy Pritzker, who died in March, aged 101. Her late husband, Jay Pritzker, built up the Hyatt Hotels chain and died in 1999. Cindy, who was president of the Chicago Public Library board, had a passion for literature. This added to her enthusiasm for Parisian Novels, which depicts 22 books casually strewn across a table, along with a glass with three pink roses.

"We got a call saying Daniella was considering selling about 15 works from her collection—which is much larger—from her New York townhouse. She decided, as many people do in life, that it's time to take stock, to go in a different direction."
