We imagine the Marianne and Edward Gibson Art Museum to be a place that, metaphorically speaking, encourages edge effects, referring to conditions created when two adjacent ecological communities meet.
"This will be an opportunity for us to show everything the building has the capacity to do," James Steward, director of the museum, tells The Art Newspaper of the opening celebration.
"Nothing compares with seeing the newly rediscovered, emotive original in person, with its bold design, delicate brushwork, and subtle variations of light and shadow."
