'We Don't Talk' contains the following lyrics: 'I'm not sure when it happened / Not even sure what it was about,' before she adds: 'Cause we come from the same home, the same blood / A different combination, but the same lock.'
This didn't come as a surprise, because as a teenager, I remember it exactly this way. Living parallel lives together as sisters. It was only ever the two of us, and with our ages so close together - I'm not even two years older - you might think we were inseparable. It just wasn't how it was. We were so different We were night and day different then.
While having them 12 months apart wasn't the plan, it's what it is. What I'm finding is that my boys aren't close. They love each other and are excited to see one another when they've been apart, but often when it comes to empathy for one another, they're a bit....lacking. They have to be coached to hug one another and say "sorry" for hurts or slights.
