So often you're sitting in a meeting, you're hearing something, and you're like, 'Am I crazy, or are they contradicting themselves? Did they change the strategy again? Can you believe they just said this thing?' Sounding off to coworkers in DMs feels like both an outlet and validation: 'It's for your mental health, right?'

We, of course, make any changes she requests and respect that she takes every single thing we do so seriously, but you know, sometimes it's a Wednesday, and you just want to do your job and be done with it without being bogged down by changes that weren't actually necessary but perhaps made the work just a little bit more perfect.

If you are potentially subject to raids, and are not communicating something out to your employees about this, to me, that's negligence.

Your sister-in-law has burned that bridge. She cannot be trusted. You should speak to her and let her know how selfish and deceitful her behavior was regarding her maternity leave and returning to work. While people do those things sometimes in order to get as much money out of their jobs as possible, she is family. She should not have taken advantage of you in that way. Unless she is your only option, don't hire her back.

In a perfect world, workplaces would be environments of mutual respect, open communication, and fair treatment, crucial for professional development.
