The 20-year-old San Francisco man was arrested at the Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland on Dec. 19, and charged with attempted carjacking and assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
The alleged victim told police that within a minute of the two meeting and having a consensual sexual encounter, the suspect brandished a gun and attempted to carjack him, leading to a violent struggle between the two. The victim was shot while attempting to wrestle the gun from the suspect, police said.
He was arrested after showing up to court for a hearing in an unrelated gun possession case, authorities said.
