The cult-favorite is the hot honey burrata ($7.50 a slice) with massive pillows of burrata strewn across the pizza with fresh basil, and a slick of Mike's Hot Honey that lands sweet, spicy, and rich.
Every day at 12:00 p.m. sharp, service stops for two whole minutes while customers and employees alike rise for the National Anthem. A narrator will interrupt the background music, asking guests to join in standing for the song, among signs placed around the restaurant alerting patrons to the daily tradition.
"You go there, and it seems like a local spot, as opposed to a special occasion spot or a theme spot," he said. "When I heard through the grapevine that Lexi was going to close The Lodge, I got really excited about talking to Kris about it."
T-bones are cheaper, case closed ... until you take into account what you're actually getting for the bucks you spent. When you buy a T-bone, part of the price (about 25% of it) is a very heavy, dense lumbar vertebra, which is, of course, inedible.
The petite filet mignon, cooked medium-well, was as tender as it was well-seasoned, melting in my mouth with each bite. Sprinkled with Bavette's steak salt, this steak was the headliner of the meal.
Head Chef Joshua Conte's all-day menu is set to include dishes like NYC fried chicken & caviar, AVI Caesar salad, and black brioche lobster roll, showcasing a blend of modern French and elevated American classics.
"It's unlike any steakhouse in that area. We're-certainly from a culinary perspective-more elevated than Capitol Grill, and also very much so from a design perspective."
