A second person has died as a result of a house fire in Richmond Hill, Ont., on Monday, according to York Regional Police. The victim, a 24-year-old woman, died on Wednesday in hospital of her injuries. In a news release on Thursday, police identified her as Helya Bahari-Kashani of Richmond Hill. An 11-year-old girl, also injured in the blaze, died in hospital on Tuesday. Three other people hurt in the fire remain in critical condition in hospital.
A man in his 60s is dead after he was stabbed in Scarborough on Tuesday evening, Toronto police say. The stabbing happened in the area of Kingston and Galloway roads. Police said they were called to the scene at about 6:50 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the man suffering from stab wounds.
Two men were fatally shot in a Cerritos park early Sunday morning, with witnesses reporting that a hail of gunfire had erupted, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a news release. Witnesses told sheriff's homicide investigators that at around 2:30 a.m., several vehicles were parked at the south side of the Cerritos Sports Complex and Skate Park on Bloomfield Avenue. Twenty to 25 gunshots rang out, and the vehicles fled, according to witnesses.
The homicide unit of the York Regional Police is investigating after a person died at a residence early Sunday in Vaughan. Officers responded to a call about an injured person at a residence near Andreeta Drive and Barons Street at around 1 a.m., York Regional Police said in a social media post. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Martha Nolan-O'Slatarra was found unresponsive on a boat named 'The Ripple' which was docked at the Montauk Yacht Club on Aug. 5.
